Deposits for SUP Norway expeditions are non-refundable after 14 days from purchase. (As per our Terms & Conditions and Norwegian law “Angrerett”)

Why can’t you refund my deposit?

Unfortunately we cannot break our refund/cancellation policy;

  1. We have to be strict with our cancellation policy to be fair to everybody. We could not for example arbitrarily decide some guests should be refunded where others are not.
  2. We have been advised that if we do break our policy and make precedence, insurance companies can refuse other genuine claims and instead insist that we reimburse customers.
  3. We do clearly display the refund/cancellation schedule at every stage of the ordering process.
  4. We strongly advise guests to obtain travel insurance, specifically stating that it should include a cancellation clause on the expedition page, in the FAQs and in the information we send after ordering (Expedition outline document point No 2.).

Why are SUP Norway expedition deposits non -refundable?

We also lose from your cancellation as;

  • Your deposit secures your place (usually for several months) preventing others that may not have cancelled from joining the expedition.
  • If we cannot fill the places at this late stage, we lose the final payment. Nok 10.000,- for Sognefjord expeditions and Nok 20.000,- for 3 Fjords expeditions per person.
  • We then have to re-market your booking. This is especially expensive if the expedition has been marked as ‘Sold out’.
  • We have invested in equipment and consumables for you on your expedition.
  • There are many administrative costs associated with the processing and handling of your booking and also for any subsequent cancellation.

We do our best to avoid this situation by strongly advising our guests to obtain travel insurance during and after the booking process. We cannot be held responsible if this advise is not taken.
